Getting your earnings instantly with Instant Pay

Instant Pay gives you the power to access your earnings whenever you need them. With Instant Pay:

  • Cash out your available earnings up to 6 times daily (minimum of $1 each time).
  • For earners in New York state there’s a limit of one free cash out per day.
  • If you have an Uber Pro Card, enjoy automatic, fee-free cashouts after every trip. You can apply to the Uber Pro Card through the Driver App.

Setting up Instant Pay

To set up Instant Pay:

  1. Open your Uber Driver app and go to the Earnings or Wallet section.
  2. Tap on Cash out and link your personal debit card or bank account.
  3. Select Confirm to cash out whenever you have at least $1 in earnings.

If you don’t want to use your personal debit card

Uber offers the Uber Pro Card by Branch, which has benefits like:

  • No annual fees or credit checks.
  • Automatic free payouts after each completed trip.
  • Cash-back on gas and EV charging.

Just remember to switch off automatic payouts if you want to use Instant Pay. The Uber Pro Card is limited to one account and cannot be transferred. Enrollment approval through Branch is not guaranteed.

Using my personal debit card

If you own a Visa, MasterCard, or Discover debit card, you can use it for Instant Pay. However, a $0.85 fee applies to each transfer. Keep in mind:

  • Not every debit card qualifies.
  • We aim for instant transfers, but some banks may take 2-3 days.
  • If there’s a payment issue, funds go to your on-file bank in 1-3 business days.

Access issues with Instant Pay

If Instant Pay isn’t available to you, it might be because:

  • You don’t have an active ridesharing account.
  • You have vehicle financing payments or wage garnishments.
  • Your account has a security flag and is under review.

Instant Pay taking longer than usual

Delays can happen due to:

  • Bank processing times of 2-3 days.
  • Trip earnings still processing or under review.
  • Incompatible payment accounts.
  • Your name on the debit card or bank account and Uber account not matching.

Remember, earnings not cashed out by 4 AM Monday automatically go to your bank account.

Grounds for Instant Pay access revocation:

Uber can block your Instant Pay for:

  • Misusing the app.
  • Account deactivation.
  • Trips needing further review.

Eligibility for Instant Pay:

  • Not all drivers are eligible.
  • Restrictions include vehicle renters/leasers, wage garnishment payers, some UberBlack and Taxi drivers.
  • Active account status is a must.
  • Fares under review for high amounts or policy violations are not eligible.
  • Deductions like fuel card payments will affect the cashout amount.
